$.YAMAHA F310 Yamaha
To keep the price of this budget guitar down, Yamaha has used as many of the same woods as possible. So you won't be surprised to see that the top is made from laminated spruce. This is darkly tinted to produce a nice effect, enhanced by the attractive rosewood bridge.
The back and sides are meranti, and the whole body is finished with a thick coating, which can become a little sticky after a couple of hours playing. The nato neck has a comfortable 'thin' feel, although the rosewood fretboard is perhaps a bit too dry. The neck joint isn't the prettiest and there are dollops of glue inside. The body but, as a budget instrument this is a fairly presentable guitar.
The F310's slender neck and low action make it an ideal guitar for beginners. It feels comfortable and easy to play, and there's none of the usual roughness you might expect from a guitar in this price range. That glossy coating does become slightly annoying if you're playing for any length of time, but that shouldn't pose too much of a problem for beginners.
A few drops of lemon oil quickly sorts out the dry fingerboard problem. Open chords sound out well on this guitar, although you may find it fairly light at the bass end and slightly dull at higher frequencies. These characteristics are typical of most laminated guitar. However, a classier set of strings would improve things considerably and transform the F310 into a rather crisp, sweet-sounding instrument. What can you say ? A reasonable-looking, pleasant-sounding, playable guitar for under SGD$300.00.
Obviously, the F310 value for money is beyond question. Cosmetic compromises are a fact of life when it comes to keeping costs down. If you 're on a really tight budget, you certainly won't go wrong here.
The F310 would make an ideal first guitar for a beginner or spare guitar for a more experienced player - it's easy to play and sounds fine. Excellent value for money.

We find though that recently, the F310s seem to require quite a fair bit of adjustment on our part to achieve a lower action.
A YAMAHA Acoustic for this price is still, pretty good value!
