Hamamatsu, Japan ― Yamaha Corporation releases the PSR-E483 and PSR-E583 as new additions to its PSR series of portable keyboards.
The PSR-E483 and PSR-E583 feature an even wider range of voices and styles (automatic accompaniments) than previous models, along with a variety of functions designed to maximize player creativity ― enabling original performances and music production. They are suitable for a wide range of situations, from playing at home to stage performances.
Both models are equipped with high-quality, extensive voices and styles, allowing players to enjoy music from various genres around the world at the touch of a button. They feature the new Auto Chord Play function, which automatically plays chords, making it easier than ever to enjoy various styles. In addition, the looper function allows players to record and play back multiple layers of chord progressions and rhythms, enabling them to practice complex pieces repeatedly and add originality to preset styles. The PSR-E583 also newly features modulation wheels and supports connection of an expression pedal. These allow players to apply effects in real time as they play, making this model ideal for stage performances.

1. Rich selection of voices and styles (automatic accompaniments) enables performance across a wide range of genres
The number of voices has been further expanded compared with previous models, with a choice of 860 voices in the PSR-E483 and 890 voices in the PSR-E583. High-quality sound delivers realistic and expressive voices. Both models also feature 345 diverse styles, including rock, dance and jazz. Simply playing chords with the left hand triggers the automatic accompaniment, allowing even solo performers to enjoy a rich performance experience, as if playing with a band or orchestra. With voices and styles spanning a wide range of global genres, players can expand their expressive range.
2. Wide variety of functions designed to maximize player creativity
The models are equipped with the new Auto Chord Play function, which automatically plays chords to make enjoying automatic accompaniments easier than ever. Players can enjoy playing melodies while following the chord progressions. In addition to preset chord progressions, players can customize their own chord progressions for more original performances.
The models are also equipped with a looper function, which allows players to record and play back multiple layers of chord progressions and rhythms, enabling them to practice complex pieces repeatedly and add originality to preset styles. They also support MIDI Song to Style, an app that converts MIDI song file data into automatic accompaniment style data. Users can play their own MIDI files on the musical instrument as automatic accompaniment style data.
The PSR-E583 also newly features modulation wheels and supports connection of an expression pedal. The modulation wheels allow players to add effects like vibrato, organ rotary speaker, and others to modify their sound in real-time while performing. The expression pedal enables foot-controlled volume adjustment, making these features ideal for stage performances.
3. Control panel and connection port redesigned to improve operability
The redesigned control panel adopts a grid layout that arranges buttons and knobs in an organized pattern. This makes it easier to control voices, automatic accompaniment styles and various functions in an intuitive manner, for freer, more creative performances. The models are also equipped with a USB Type-C port for connection to PCs and smart devices. This enables smooth data transfer.
